Mr. Michel HUNAULT, Director of SICCFIN, has received from the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg the honorary title of associate member of the Council of Europe.
The Council of Europe was created in 1949 and today has 46 member states, including the Principality of Monaco. The institution promotes the respect of human rights and good governance, the conformity of national legislations to the European Convention on Human Rights.
Within it, GRECO monitors the prevention and fight against corruption.
MONEYVAL evaluates the AML/CFT against the FATF recommendations and the adoption by member states of the European conventions and directives against money laundering.
The President, Mr. Tiny Kox recalled the various reports entrusted to the recipient, and adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in terms of respect for freedoms and human rights, and welcomed his continued commitment to his Monegasque mission for the promotion of ethics and the fight against financial crime.
