During the FORUM of French-speaking FIUs which took place in Rabat, SICCFIN Monaco was represented by Mr Eric BERGESI, Head of the Investigation Unit, and Mr Michel HUNAULT, Director, here with his French and Canadian counterparts, in the presence of the Minister of Finance of the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mrs. Nadia Fettah Alaoui.
This forum, in the wake of the previous one organized in Monaco, was an opportunity for fruitful exchanges between FIUs to discuss sensitive issues such as international cooperation, the fight against the financing of terrorism as well as crypto-currencies in the light of AML/CFT prevention. Each FIU was able to present its risk assessment and to discuss the cooperation of the services: a condition for the effectiveness of the fight against the challenges of international financial crime. The evocation of international sanctions was an opportunity to testify to the effectiveness and solidarity of the and solidarity of the international response. This Forum is part of the ongoing cooperation between the Egmont Group FIUs in the run-up to the next FATF session.
