On 24 April 2013, AMAF (Monaco Association of Financial Activities) joined the UBF by signing the organisation’s charter. This Union now gathers together – beyond the French Banking Federation (FBF) – around twenty associations and groups of French-speaking banking associations in Canada, Europe, Africa, the Arab world and the Indian Ocean.
Its purpose is chiefly to "build an information exchange and meeting network on themes of interest using the French language".
The project’s founding event was held on 20 September 2012, in the form of a conference in Marrakech devoted to the environment of micro businesses and SMEs, which brought together more than 350 delegates.
