The CDE was created in 1999 under the aegis of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and with the backing of the Princely Government. So, on 18 September, Mr. Michel Dotta, its current President, celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of the association alongside Prince Albert II and in the presence of many government members including the Minister of State, H.E. Mr. Michel Roger. All members were of course invited.
A private organisation, the CDE has 400 members: company managers but also self-employed and institutional professionals. Its mission to promote the Monaco business centre. Members’ meetings, economic missions; over twenty annual events allow managers of Monegasque companies to meet up or to canvass abroad.
The CDE is not only a business facilitator for its members but also a splendid intermediary for Monaco’s associations and institutions. For that matter, it was in this spirit that ‘Team Monaco’ was created, bringing permanently together the CDE, Monaco Association of Financial Activities (AMAF), the Tourism and Convention Authority (DTC), and more contextually SBM, the International University of Monaco, Monaco Private Equity and Venture Association (MVCA), the Automobile Club, the Yacht Club etc. Clearly every economic stakeholder can deliver its expertise on a particular mission at a given time.
“The CDE is modern, innovative tool that is proactive and flexible. It can coordinate actions of great scope like tailoring,” maintained Prince Albert II, who hopes “that it will continue to work with effectiveness, especially during trips abroad.”
The next economic mission will in fact take place in Singapore this coming November.
