In 2014, four financial industry experts determined to disrupt the structured investment market founded PRIVATAM and an exclusive digital platform for structured products. We meet Stanislas PERROMAT, co-founder of the company.
Why did you create PRIVATAM in Monaco?
My partners and I met in London. We chose to set up our structure in Monaco because it is an optimal location in terms of economic and political stability. It is a very welcoming country for companies, the labor laws are favorable to them. In the Principality, which encourages the development of structures, we found the ideal environment to develop ours.
What is the nature of your business?
In 2015 we created the world's first monitor of multi-bank structured investment products in the PRIVATAM platform. In 2018, PRIVATAM became the first independent company in the world to fully digitize the investment process on its online platform. By 2021, we have managed over $10 billion in products for over 800 asset managers worldwide.
The entire business plan for our structure came from our clients. They wanted a digital monitor to easily track structured investment products, and also wanted to buy these products from different providers based on their performance. We have met their expectations. We offer them the best digital and human support to create and manage their structured products.
What is your ambition?
The desire to bring added value to the structured products market, to revolutionize it. We bring innovation to a niche industry. Like many high-end products, structured products have the enormous advantage of being able to be tailor-made according to the client's specific and personal risk tolerance. They have the advantage of lowering the volatility of a portfolio. The client benefits from a controlled return and protection. It is possible to build an infinite number of structured products with different underlyings and a different risk/return ratio. These products open up significant performance possibilities.
However, they are not necessarily widely used...
Yes, investors still don't use them enough. This is often because they are not familiar with them and they may seem complex. We invite them to take a closer look because they could find very interesting investment products that they would not find directly on the market. We do tailor-made investments, which is perfectly consistent with the Principality of Monaco and the luxury market.
Are your clients asset managers?
Independent asset managers, family offices and small private banks, in about 15 countries. We have 200 white labels in the world, because 200 asset managers offer their clients the services of our platform where the PRIVATAM brand does not appear. 800 asset managers in total work with us today, and we bring them a real differential advantage. The 45 people in our team are totally at their service. We are passionate entrepreneurs!
And in the future?
In 2021, we launched our new approach: "Find your investment Match!".
We are the only company in the world that allows each investor to find his ideal investment, THE structured product that matches his profile, according to a hybrid process, half human, half technology.
We want to continue to build on this momentum and improve our clients' experience.
