The European Society for Banking and Financial Law of Monaco, and the Henri Capitant Monaco Association, both of which were the organising bodies, gave this day of reflection the theme Banks and Ethics.
After a superb address by Maître Jean-Marie Canac on the subject of Banks and Ethics in the Literature, Mrs. Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director of Budget and Treasury - representing H.E. Michel Roger, Minister of State of Monaco - introduced the symposium with some figures to provide a better knowledge of the Principality: 200 hectares, a population of 36,000, 110 nationalities, 45,000 employees in the private sector and 5,000 in the public sector. And above all, “double zero” performance: 0 deficit, 0 debt, owing to the rigorous management of the country and much work: 86 million hours worked per year.
The morning was dedicated to the theme Ethics influence on banking business, chaired by H.E. Philippe Narmino, Director of Judicial Services, Chairman of the Council of State of the Principality of Monaco.
The afternoon session, chaired by Mrs. Isabelle Rosabrunetto, was devoted to Ethics exploited by banks.
