To be launched by early next year as one of the initiatives of the Strategic Council for Attractiveness’s Welcome Plan, the “Monaco Welcome” label will particularly relate to the financial institutions of the Monaco financial centre. See below for explanations.
The programme will be mandatory for ten administrative departments. Private businesses and establishments will be able to choose whether or not to enrol in the process. Notwithstanding the quality of service rendered, a “Monaco Welcome” label will be established in the Principality in early 2014, for economic entities subscribing to the excellence of the welcome they give their users and customers. As they are open to the public, the Monegasque financial institutions will be among those entities which can be certified with this label. In concrete terms, in order to qualify for the label, the operator in question must first complete an online self-assessment questionnaire adapted to its own industry sector. Once the application has been made and this initial formality is complete, the operator will then be assessed in the field by a mystery shopper. Managed by a specialised institute, the result of the assessment will form the basis for the decision on whether or not to award the label – a decision which will be taken by a joint committee made up of members of the administration and representatives of the private sector. The label thus obtained will have a limited time validity only and will be subject to renewal after two or three years. Should it not be granted to an applying operator, the latter will be given feedback listing some areas for improvement. The application may then be repeated, of course.
Several relevant sectors
Several other sectors have been identified as possible candidates for the label: shops, hotels, restaurants, transport operators, real estate agencies, state contracting companies, cultural attractions and museums, healthcare facilities and welcome associations (such as CREM for example). From their side, the mystery shoppers will come from ENOV, the French organisation. ENOV is already familiar with Monaco, having conducted a major satisfaction survey here in 2010 for the Department of Tourism and Conventions. Monitoring of compliance with the labelling will be carried out via the physical presence of ENOV agents at the entities concerned, or through verification telephone calls.
