On the 12th of June, the Association Monégasque des Activités Financières (AMAF) and the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) went to London for a trade mission, together with the Monaco Government's Attractiveness Unit, the Monaco Private Label, (MPL) and a range of Monegasque experts in the beautiful Royal Thames Yacht C lub Alejandro VELEZ, Country Head at UBS Monaco and AMAF’s representant, explains the objectives of the mission.
What were the main objectives of the mission to London and why were they important for the Principality of Monaco?
The aim of the mission was to enhance business relations between our 2 countries, bringing together a delegation of 44 Monegasque professionals from various sectors and about 60 guests from the broad financial sector, in collaboration with:
- the Monaco Economic Board,
- H.E Mrs. Evelyne Genta, Ambassador of Monaco to the United Kingdom,
- Frederic Genta, the Secretary of Attractiveness and Digital transformation of Monaco,
Can you give us an overview of the presentations made to tax specialists, lawyers, and bankers? What were the main questions or concerns raised by these influencers?
After an inspiring opening speech from H.E Mrs Evelyne Genta, Ambassador of Monaco to the United Kingdom, followed by a speech of the Secretary of Attractiveness, Development and digital Transformation, M Frederic Genta, I had the honor to represent AMAF to present the strength of our financial system and the many advantages residents enjoy living in the Principality to roughly 60 English prescribers such as tax specialists, lawyers, and bankers
First, I’ve provided an overview of the financial place of Monaco with key figures, then we highlighted the world-class, highly regulated financial ecosystem, his dynamism and the large personal and business growth opportunities for the clients offered by Monaco.
The audience was particularly impressed by the unique mix of tax advantages, high-quality infrastructures for residents and their family in an exquisite environment in the hearth of Europe, allowing the clients to protect their most precious resource: wealth and time.
A presentation on “how to set up an Entity in Monaco” held by 2 Partners of CMS Monaco Law Firm concluded the event.
Being all present together in London, speaking with one voice to promote our Financial Place showcased how connected and collaborative all actors in Monaco are to provide excellence to the clients.
