Sophie Thevenoux, Ambassador, Special Adviser for European Economic and Financial Affairs, has been appointed Director of the AMSF. She will take up her duties on January 29 at the head of this independent administrative authority, recently created to replace SICCFIN, in order to continue the fight against money laundering, the financing of terrorism, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and corruption.
Ms. Thevenoux will bring her recognized skills and long experience in the economic and financial fields to the AMSF's launch phase, and will be succeeded next spring by a new Director who is currently being recruited.
Mrs. Thevenoux previously held important positions within the Monegasque Administration, first at the Budget and Treasury Department from 1995 to 2005, then at the Department of Finance and Economy, before becoming the Principality's Minister of Finance and Economy in 2009. Since 2011, she has held a number of ambassadorial posts, notably in France and at the European Union, and her knowledge of international organizations and diplomatic relations will be invaluable assets in her new missions.
