3 months ago, Katie Danby took over the management of HSBC Private Bank in Monaco after an 18 year uninterrupted international career in this Group to which she is very attached. The young British woman, who speaks German and French, began her career in 1996 and first held various positions in Germany, Israel, the USA and England.
From 2003 to 2006, she jetted off to the Middle East and more specifically to Qatar, where she became Head of retail Banking and marketing.
In 2006 she returned to London for 3 years, where she was appointed coordinator of the ‘Premier’ business. Then she moved to Switzerland as Chief of staff of HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) S.A. In 2011, she was appointed Managing Director and then Deputy CEO in Luxembourg, before coming to Monaco. This young mother has had an extremely wide-ranging career path – with very varied assignments in highly dissimilar places where she has gained real experience.
After travelling over the world, what does she think about her new appointment? “It’s an exciting.role HSBC has real leadership in Monaco. We have to retain that and focus on HNW customers, to whom we can bring our know-how and expertise. That is also one of the bank’s vocations, by the way. Not to mention extreme rigour, total confidentiality and perfect transparency, the core values of HSBC.” As if to confirm her words, Katie Danby mentions the various awards bestowed on HSBC Monaco by the magazine Euromoney: best Private Bank, best bank for investment products, best bank for Ultra High Net Worth customers and best private bank for High Net Worth customers. “It’s a real challenge to stay at this level. We are determined to continue our work by offering Monegasque people, people resident in Monaco and others living abroad, a range of products and services tailored to market needs and combined with service of very high quality.
Monaco is the gateway to Europe and it is an international platform that offers great development opportunities.”
